One month in Óbvia Residency by Þorbjörg Halldórsdóttir.

The flat I stayed in was lovely, actually it is a whole house. It is perfectly located and the visitors workshop is in the same street. The hosts, Raquel and Carlos, who are the founders of Óbvia, are amazing people. They are always ready if assistance is needed.

All facilities are outstanding. I didn‘t bring anything with me and my mind was totally in a reboot mode. The first thing I noticed in the workshop was this bulk of white fabric. Meters of old, unused, white linen. It was owned by Raquel's grandmother who ran a guesthouse many years ago. She used to sew bedding, tablecloths, napkins etc for the guesthouse. The white linen and I became one, wowen together in endless threads of experiments. The outcome is a small composition, a personal happening where I came out, as many others, in the #meetoo campaign. The napkins symbol all of us that have been violated or harassed sexually. This feast is over. It is time to stop swallowing. It is time to wipe the filth off. It is time to leave the table.
